So I started the new job this week. It's um..interesting. We will see how it goes. For now it is a tentative work in progress.
This week was also Canada day. It is the Canadian's 4th of July complete with patriotic colours, flags, food and fireworks. Here in the capital its a BIG deal. When I was coming home on the bus everywhere I looked was maple leafs and red. There was a big concert on at Parliament Hill (the Queen was even there), headlined by the Barenaked Ladies. Then to top it all off a huge fireworks display at dark. Lots of revelry lots of drunkeness and I had work at 8am Friday.
Also in the news this week all that hoohah about the Russian spies. Who knew that was still an issue? The whole thing intrigues me. The fact that these 'couples' had actually settled in the States, had kids and held down jobs all the while passing on information about prominent Americans to the Russian secret services. See kids, real life is far more interesting then the movies.
Speaking of movies, Steve and I went to see Twilight Eclipse this weekend. I thought it was the best so far. I'm even (and I say this slightly shamefully) looking forward to the last one. Might have to re-read the books. BTW I am Team Jacob, I think Edward is whiny and pasty.
