So I have been at my new job for a couple weeks so I think it is time to talk about the two little girls I nanny for. For privacy reasons (mainly cos they're not my kids) I will not use their real names nor will I be posting Images with their faces.
I will refer to them as The Angelbaby and The Willfull Child. To be clear Angelbaby is by no means an Angel all the time but Willfull is always stroppy in her own way :)
Angelbaby is one month older but developmentally behind. For the first part of her life she has had her assortment of grandmothers living with her and they have done everything for her. She has no interest in feeding or dressing herself as she has always had someone to do things things for her. She is the kind of child you can sit in the middle of the floor and she will amuse herself with a piece of lint. She is generally placid and very easy to make laugh. She will quite happily sit on my lap and cuddle with me after waking up from a nap or when she is sad/hurt.
The Willfull Child is a whole other kettle of fish. She is smart and boisterous. She will not sit still for more then 30 seconds (literally) before moving onto something that catches her eye. She feeds herself and would be insulted if I tried to help her in any way. She is confident on her feet and loves to climb and pull herself up on different objects. She does not like to be hugged unless she initiates the contact, even when hurt/sad. She gets mad and lets you know when she is displeased with the way things are going.
As I am not their mother I think I am allowed to have a favourite. As long as this in no way influences my interactions with them. I can be unbiased but still secretly 'like' one more right? I would be lying if I said I did not find one of them more 'my kind of kid'.
Which one do you think it is?
Which one do you think it is?
Hahahaha. As if you'd ever choose a kid who was light headed enough to be amused by lint. You are way too easy to pick, Raquael Jones. And I reckon you were one hell of a strop back in the day, too :P
